Galvanized pipe protection is useful where the pipe is handled outside or installed in a place with rain, dust and changing temperatures. The outer layer is made of galvanized iron sheet with a thickness of no less than 0.5 mm; the inner steel pipe has an outer diameter of 219 mm and a wall thickness of 6-8 mm.

For many utility projects, the buyer first decides the pipe body, then confirms whether a galvanized outer layer, insulation layer or extra coating is needed. Checking this early makes packing and site installation more predictable, especially when several pipe sizes are shipped in one batch. It also gives the workshop time to mark bundles by line number, which is a small but helpful detail for crews working under a tight schedule. If the pipe will be stored outdoors for several weeks, end caps and simple rain protection should be considered too.
