Overhead insulated pipe is a composite pipe structure designed specifically for heat transport, primarily used in urban heating, industrial steam, and oil and gas transportation. Its core function is to reduce heat loss when transporting high-temperature media (such as hot water and steam) and ensure pipeline durability in complex environments.
Product Features
Overhead insulation pipe is suitable for the transportation of non-corrosive materials such as boiling water, steam, cold water, etc., and the material temperature range is -10℃ to 130℃. Galvanized iron is stronger than high-pressure polyethylene and is not easy to become brittle, rusted, or corroded.



Product Structure
1. Working Steel Pipe: The inner pipe that transports the medium is typically made of #20 seamless steel pipe or high-quality carbon steel. It must meet pressure and high-temperature resistance requirements .
2. Insulation Layer: Common materials include rigid polyurethane foam (excellent thermal insulation), calcium silicate/glass wool (high-temperature resistance), and aerogel felt (a new, high-efficiency material). New prefabricated pipes utilize a composite insulation structure (e.g., soft insulation layer + calcium silicate layer + polyurethane layer). Compared to traditional single-layer insulation, this reduces gap heat loss by 80% and eliminates the thermal bridge effect of brackets.
Core Performance
1. Thermal insulation performance
(1) Heat loss is only 25% of traditional pipes. When the ambient temperature is 25°C, the outer surface temperature is <50°C.
(2) Temperature drop control: <5°C per kilometer; pressure drop <0.05MPa/km.
(3) Extreme environment adaptability: The insulation layer is stable under working conditions of -30°C~150°C.
2. Mechanical and durability
(1) Compressive strength: The outer protective pipe must withstand external loads (such as wind and snow, maintenance and trampling).
(2) Corrosion resistance: Three layers of corrosion protection (outer protective pipe anti-corrosion layer + insulation layer waterproofing + working pipe inner wall coating) ensure a service life of 30-50 years.
(3) Acceptance criteria: The wall thickness, insulation layer thickness, and outer anti-corrosion structure of the pipeline must be re-inspected upon arrival, and quality certification documents must be provided.
